Have you ever been interested in the world of Affiliate Marketing?  Ever wondered what it takes to be an Affiliate Manager?

An Affiliate Manager is someone responsible for managing an online affiliate program for an affiliate merchant.  At mobusi, we have a fully operating Affiliate Management team, focused on maintaining and growing relationships within the affiliate marketing industry.

I’m Natalia and I’ve been at mobusi for more than two years, having always worked in Affiliation at the company.

So what does an Affiliate Manager exactly do? 

We have numerous tasks at the company.   We work to increase the performance of our Affiliate Programme as well as working alongside affiliates to increase their sales and revenue. The affiliate channel comes under the performance marketing umbrella because the merchant only pays when sales are made.  Ultimately, it’s a win win situation for everyone.

Something else critical to the job is the relationship we have with Affiliates and building a strong partnership with them.  That way, when it comes to monetising traffic, they’re more likely to take you into consideration.

Another important part of the job is fighting against fraudulent traffic, we have to be careful against fraudulent actions and try to minimize the impact of those activities to the advertiser.

Working as an Affiliate Manager in Mobusi is something I’m extremely passionate about.  My job allows me to speak to so many different clients and partners each day, all over the world.  Something else I love about the aspect of the job is the team work – we always work together and help one another out, we’re like little family and I wouldn’t change it for the world!

A day in the life of a Mobusi Affiliate Manager

So what does a typical day look like?

9:30 till 11:30 We start working around 9:30 in the morning and the first thing we do is check the previous day’s results as well as the current days to see if there’s been any problem.  The second thing we do is alleviate any problems that may have occurred in the time we’ve not been in the office.  Then, we get up to date with emails – we mostly deal with publishers in the ASIA Time Zone at this time.

11:30 till 2:30 After catching up on everything, I speak to my affiliates to see what they need and offer them new campaigns, actions, recommendations and of course, resolve any problem or issue they may have.  We always try to improve our clients on results on a day-to-day basis.

2:30 till 3:00 Lunch time!

3:00 till 6:30 After lunch, it’s time to catch up with our colleagues in the LATAM and US offices.  We use the time to solve any problems they may have.  The afternoons tend to be a bit less hectic than the mornings so we’re able to use this time to properly concentrate on the stats of our affiliates, reply to emails and generally keep on top of things at the office.
